TERA (black) "What Does Frogster Publishing TERA in Europe Mean to Me?"

Greetings, members of the TERA community!

As you have no doubt seen, today Bluehole Studio announced a partnership with Frogster to publish TERA in Europe. Naturally, your first reaction must be “what does this mean to me?”

Here is our answer to this important question:

• TERA will have servers located in both North America and Europe. Frogster will create, maintain, and manage the European servers.

• TERA accounts created through Frogster will be exclusive to European servers and will be unable to access the North American servers. Frogster will handle European customer service.

• TERA in Europe will follow the same update schedule and contain the same content as the North American version of the game, with translations appropriate to each country and region.
- TERA is still planned to launch at the same time in North America and Europe.
- The tentative list of languages for translation remains French and German.
- Any content changes to the game, such as the removal of blood, will occur only to meet local European regulations and needs if necessary.

• There will not be a separate microtransaction payment model for TERA in Europe. TERA will use a subscription-based payment model in all regions.

• TERA-Europe.com will be the home of TERA in Europe and will host European-specific news, forums, and events.

• En Masse Entertainment and Frogster will communicate regularly before, during, and following the game’s launch.

• All players are welcome to participate on the official TERA-Online.com forums regardless of geographical location.

This information should address most of the questions we’ve seen asked on the forums. We will do our best to respond to any additional questions you may have; please feel free to add them to this thread.

Any additional information on what types of servers they will be running? A major concern is that their servers will cause a high ping, lagging European players. Will this be an issue?

What about Frogster infamous secuirty and Customer Support which never provide support, instead banning people only with no reason?

Frogster also never fought against Bots and Gold Sellers. How will this be for Tera?

How much communication wiill Frogster have will player base? They prevoiusly had no communication with player base at all, quite the opposite.

Can Europeans buy US Version of the game and play on US Servers? This appears to be the only option left.

Will En Masse have any say on Frogster?

Is there any chance this development might change? like removing Frogster and finding someone else?

These are make or break questions in my book. I wont spend money that is going trough to Frogster, mainly becouse i've had more then a few issues with them in the passt and their arrogance is something i'd rather not deal with again, yet their poor customer support.

I too want to know if I can still buy a US copy of the game and access the US servers from Europe, I have no problem at all with Tera as a game, or paying to support it when the money are going directly to EnMasse and Bluehole, but paying directly to Frogster is out of the question for me.

This will not be likely Senshi, so drop the idea of that happening.

I have a question also:
Will the servers be placed in Germany or outside? If outside, where to be more exact? Too early to tell?

What guarantees has BHS obtained from Frogster with respect to
- Standards of server stability,
- Quality of connections,
- Customer support
- Freedom of discussion on forums
- Security and
- Measures to combat RMT activity?

These appear to be the major concerns of our European friends.

Again, a lot of the conjecture starting in this thread is based on Frogster being a company that has previously only dealt with F2P titles. Yes, it's a risk by BHS to pick this company, but I'm sure they have their reasons. Who had heard of EnMasse when they were chosen to manage TERA in the US? But 99% of you weren't even around for that decision so I'm just talking to myself again >_>

What it means is that if you register an account with Frogster it will only be for the European servers. You'd have to register at En Masse to play at North American servers.
